Appropriate explanation and reassurance are critical in your recovery from tinnitus. At the Tinnitus Clinic our approach is non-directive and encourages exploration of what is important to the individual and what is needed right now. At each step on the path to your recovery, we assess the level of understanding and needs of the client and adjust the treatment process appropriately.
At the Tinnitus Clinic we clearly identify the physiological and psychological processes which have led the individual towards tinnitus distress and through understanding and appropriate counselling the individual with tinnitus is able to retrace the steps and move towards recovery. This approach reassures, informs, and empowers the individual at the various stages in the treatment process and as they are appropriately assessed by other relevant health professionals.
Support to family members is also viewed as an important aspect as this helps others to gain better insight into the tinnitus experience which usually contributes significantly to the recovery process in a positive way.
Using our treatment methods we have seen clients shift from a highly distressed state and return to their normal ‘ pre-tinnitus’ self, sometimes within a very short timeframe. Our approach is therefore aimed at giving reassurance and real hope for the future as well as providing clear insight and a structured and achievable guide to recovery to those individuals who find themselves in the maelstrom of tinnitus distress.
As professional counsellors and psychotherapists with many years experience in treating tinnitus, you will find both John & Marta very understanding of your experience with tinnitus and sympathetic to the challenges associated with your recovery. At every step along your recovery journey, you will recieve explanation and reassurance and can be confident that any of your concerns and questions will be fully addressed.
You will also be provided with appropriate resources to support your treatment outside of the clinic and between visits.
